On Wednesday 12th of August, the UNSW Women in Engineering Society held the annual Industry Night event at the Tyree Room in the UNSW John Niland Scientia Building. The event was also listed as part of the UNSW Women in Engineering Development Program, which has 275 women enrolled in it .

 

UNSW WIE members, 75% of whom are female received the opportunity to speak with representatives and recruiters from firms spanning across engineering, consulting and commerce industries and have all their career-related questions answered directly by industry professionals.

Dedicated supporters of UNSW WIE, Dr Alex Bannigan from UNSW Faculty of Engineering and Dr Fiona Johnson Senior Lecturer from the Civil and Environmental School were invited to speak at the beginning of the event. Following their speeches, Karin Soldenhoff, a Technology Manager at the Australian National Nuclear Research and Development Organisation (ANSTO), our Principal Sponsor, was invited to speak about the diverse career opportunities available at ANSTO.
